Private Sector Housing Officer

We are looking for a positive and enthusiastic professional to join our Private Sector Housing Team. Your primary function will be to investigate complaints and enquiries about housing conditions, including the use of HHSRS assessments, and to take appropriate enforcement action. You will also deal with a range of other enquiries including grant enquiries, licensing of HMOs and caravan sites, complaints of harassment and illegal eviction, public health funerals and immigration inspections.
You should be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of specialist area related issues and have a commitment to customer care and the provision of a high quality service. Ideally you will have experience in undertaking property inspections and identifying building defects and associated remedial works.
This is the perfect opportunity to come and develop skills in those areas where you have not yet had direct experience and further develop your career.
This post is a full time role working 37 hours per week , to be worked over 4 or 5 days. Working pattern to be discussed at interview stage. The initial contract is for two years with the possibility of extension.
